Yvonne Zehner began her studies at the Mozarteum University at the age of 15, first with Prof. M. Seidel, then in the class of o. H. Prof. Eliot Fisk\/Ass. Joaquin Clerch.<\/p>\n
In February 1997, a study visit took her to Montevideo to work there with Prof. Abel Carlevaro.<\/p>\n
During the summer months from 1998 to 2001, Yvonne Zehner received a scholarship from the renowned Academia musicale Chigiana in Siena to study there with Oscar Ghiglia. In the winter semester of 1999\/2000, she studied at the Universidade Federal de Rio de Janeiro at the invitation of Prof. N\u00edcolas de Souza Barros. In October 2001, she completed her studies at the Mozarteum with distinction.<\/p>\n
Together with Christina Schorn, she has been artistic director of the International Hallein Guitar Festival since 2007. In October 2007, together with Silvan Wagner, she founded the publication series Phoibos \u2013 Journal for Plucked Music, which has been published biannually by Verlag Karl Stutz in Passau since February 2008. From 2008 to 2012, she was president of the concert series Music in the Museum, which is dedicated to the performance of contemporary music through monthly concerts and particularly supports young ensembles and performers.<\/p>\n
Since 2009, together with J\u00fcrgen Schwenkglenks, she has directed the Passauer Saiten Festival, which they initiated.<\/p>\n
She has a particular passion for chamber music, regularly performing with flutist Vera Klug and the Trio Collage, the Gunnar Berg Ensemble, and the Ensemble Mobile. As a guitarist, she was also a member of Yehudi Menuhin’s foundation Live Music Now.<\/p>\n
Through her close collaboration with contemporary composers, several pieces have been dedicated to her, such as the full-evening work “Strings – A play” for a guitarist and an actor by Spanish composer Agustin Castilla-Avila and the solo work “Sand” by Julia Deppert. She also premiered works by Sofia Gubaidulina, Konstantia Gourzi, Klaus Ager, Benjamin Lang, and others.<\/p>\n
She has performed at various international festivals and concert series, including the ASPEKTE Festival for Music of Our Time in Salzburg, Summer in Stuttgart – Music of the Centuries, the European Weeks Passau Festival, and the Edinburgh University Concert Series. Numerous concerts have taken her, both as a soloist and chamber musician, to Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Great Britain, Ireland, China, Taiwan, and Brazil.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
